Hey everyone, I just turned on my PS4 and got this scary Database is corrupted message. I have no idea what it means or what caused it. Can anyone please guide me on how to fix it safely without losing my data?

This occurs as a result of unexpected outages or storage failure.

Fix:
  1. Boot into Safe Mode
  2. Select Rebuild Database
In case not solved, restart PS4 and format.

If the problem persists, restart and format the PS4.

When system files are corrupted, usually by unexpected shutdowns, power outages, or storage problems, your PS4 displays "Database Is Corrupted." Rebooting into Safe Mode and choosing the safest option, Rebuild Database, will resolve it. If that doesn't work, try backing up your data and initializing the PS4, updating the system software, or booting into Safe Mode once more and selecting Option 5 (Reinstall System Software). A failing hard drive could be the cause of clicking sounds or the console freezing frequently.

A PS4 shows “Database Is Corrupted” when system files become damaged due to crashes, power loss, or bad storage sectors. Restart in Safe Mode, rebuild the database, update the system, or initialize the console. If issues persist, check or replace the hard drive.
