Why is my USB drive not showing up on my Mac?

My Mac isn’t detecting my USB drive even though it works on other devices. I’ve checked different ports but still nothing—any ideas on what might be causing this or how to fix it?

A USB drive may not show up on your Mac due to format incompatibility, faulty cable or port, disabled external disks in Finder preferences, or corrupted drive. Try using another port, enabling External Disks in Finder settings, checking Disk Utility, or formatting the drive if necessary. Damaged hardware may require replacement.
