How Do You Add Checkboxes in Word?

Can you guide me on how to add checkboxes in Word? I’m looking for a simple way to insert them into a document.

The Developer tab needs to be enabled first: Check the Developer box under Main Tabs after selecting File > Options > Customize Ribbon. To add a clickable checkbox, go to the Developer tab and select the Check Box Content Control icon in the Controls group.
