How Do I Unzip A File On Windows?

I have a zipped file on my Windows PC that I need to access, but I’m not sure how to unzip it. Can anyone guide me on the steps to extract files from a zip folder?

Simply right-click the ZIP file, choose "Extract All," pick a location for the files, and click Extract to have Windows unzip the file for you.

To unzip a file on Windows, right-click the zipped folder and select Extract All. Choose your destination and click Extract. Alternatively, double-click the zip, then drag files to another folder. Windows File Explorer handles unzipping without extra software easily quickly.

Using Windows' built-in File Explorer program is the easiest way to unzip a file.
  1. The ZIP file will have a zipper icon if you right-click on it.
  2. Choose "Extract All."
  3. Click Extract after selecting your destination folder. A new, uncompressed folder will contain the unzipped files.

To unzip a file on Windows, right-click the ZIP file and select “Extract All…”, then choose a destination folder and click Extract. Alternatively, you can open the ZIP file, drag the contents to a folder, or use third-party tools like WinRAR or 7-Zip.
