Where can you find System Preferences on a Mac computer?

I need to make some changes but can't locate the System Preferences icon on my Mac. Where is System Preferences on a Mac, and has it changed its name in new versions?

For those users who have updated their computer operating system to the latest version of macOS, please be aware that the System Preferences window is now called the System Settings. You will find it in the Apple menu located on the left-hand side of your computer screen.

Firstly, you have to find the icon. It might be in the Applications folder or found by performing Spotlight Search. Note that recent Mac models have System Settings instead of System Preferences.

If I am to be frank, one of the simplest ways to search for System Preferences or System Settings is by conducting the Spotlight Search. This can simply be done by pressing Command + Space, followed by typing the menu name.

Well, I faced this problem while upgrading my Mac. Recently, Apple has decided to rename the System Preferences menu to System Settings for its newer macOS releases. You may access it either via the Apple menu or simply search for it using Spotlight.
