I had a similar issue with an SD card on my Mac a while ago. First of all, I stopped writing on the card in order to prevent any data overwriting and subsequently started the data recovery process using recovery software.

I accidentally lost some files from an SD card and I'm looking for ways to recover them on my Mac. Has anyone tried OS X SD card recovery before, and what tools or methods worked best for you?

There's a high likelihood that the files will be recoverable because it happened quite recently. Therefore, I'd advise you to refrain from making any additional entries into the SD card and perform a file search using recovery software

Recently, I recovered my vacation photographs that had been stored in an SD card and had gone missing. The process wasn't as difficult as I thought since the key was to stop using the card until I managed to find and restore all the files using recovery software.

I once inadvertently formatted my SD card, and assumed that I lost all data stored there. Luckily, I managed to recover most of my files with the help of recovery software. What I would recommend is not writing any new data on the SD card, and do a recovery scan right away.
